I found this tumblr like months ago. I just remembered to check my messages. Her blog confused me, so i asked this question:
“As a confirmed Catholic myself, I’ve come to wonder about the influence of God in our lives. If He made us the way we are, why do we try so hard to fight the things that make us happy? Should we take the Bible (which I’ll concede contains plenty of good messages) so literally when we know it was written to suit the needs of the time? I do not mean to insult or try and weaken your faith in Christ (that would accomplish nothing), but why do you consider homosexuality a sin? is love not universal?”
Fluteforchrist’s response:

Well God created us in His image with desires that were good and free of sin, but once Adam sinned, everyone born from him now are sinful. The things that make us “happy” that are sinful were not made for us by God. They were made by Satan and encouraged through sin.

We take the bible literally because it is infallible and it’s truths do not change. Now wow there are some passages that are clearly written in direct response to the culture of the day, the huge majority is still valid today. By looking at the context of the time and of the rest of scripture, it is clear what is cultural and what is for the rest of time until the 2nd coming of Christ. -homosexuality is one that is not cultural. (again we know this by studying the context)

It’s not just I that considers homosexuality to be sinful, God does; it goes against His natural design of the marriage bed. Here are some verses to back that up: Leviticus 20:13, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 1 timothy 1:8-11, and Judges 19:22-23

The love between a homosexual couple is not a cannot be to the level of love that God has designed to be between a married couple. It’s a corrupt sense of love that’s based off of lust.

Shit like this reminds me why i distance myself from religious faith so much. It has this unnerving tendency to leave minds unable to open up to progression.  *sigh* This world is so screwed.
